Engine ready to pull but for bonnet.

Very nice windsheld bottle received in mail. Used but like new.

A like new shifter plate received in mail and painted, can not tell it is not new.

Swaped a pair of rebuildable H2s (yes I have another Pair) for a top without rips or tears and with clear plastic, fella replaced it for one with a zip out window. Also got a pair of side curtains in the deal.

Now if my bud with the lift will just get back from his wifes High School reunion.

Sounds great! Mine was pretty wonderful - went to Niagara on the Lake to meet friends from Florida. He works for the Mouse in purchasing and had visits arranged with two vineyard suppliers - MAN do they take good care of you!! Much great wine/ much great company/ much great weather - no LBC's though I saw a nice MGC. What did happen though was at the B&B where we met, one of the other guests had a stunning Mopar - challenger I think - nicely put to bed with car cover & everything. friend's are saying goodbye to the owner, owner's dog walks over & cocks his leg on the Mopar - you've never seen a B&B owner yell so loud LOL.

This is what my friends brought though - easier to ship to USA - I'm very happy - have wanted one of these for many more years than I've even had an LBC.

Nice work, Jack, and nice little bit of kit, JP!

Heh, the cue ball is neat.

Jack, I mentioned that my buddy had to pull his motor about a month ago, and we indexed his bonnet to his hinges. The motor is back in and what a great trick. Reinstalled bonnet and no issues, it fit. When drilling, we ran a vacume so no debree was scattered, that would really show as far as rust is concerned. Hope your redo goes as well as Johns did.

Understand, but my prob is that I have a bent hinge from a PDO accident I think. The bonnet is up about a quarter inch higher on one side than it should be. It should be an intresting job to get it down where it must be.

I don't know the solution, other than a good bodyman giving it a loving touch. It is amazing what can be done when someone who knows looks at the problem. When my bonnet was off and completely stripped, my buddy took the bonnet and and massaged it in ways I never would have believed. We laid it on one side, kinda stopped it and pushed the other side. Although this isn't a good discription of how it went, you get the idea. After 20 to 30 minutes, and I was sweating it, he was happy. He got everything square to the world before all the body work, most of the bracing was lose, and it all was welded up. Like I've said before, here is to good friends. Good luck.

Oh it just needs bent, the hinge. Not quite sure how I will go about it but I will get it done.

Jack, if it is 1/4" too high, while the bonnet is off couldn't you give it some downward, gentle persuasion? Use a well padded lever to spread the "V" outward and go easy!!!

BTW, Good deal on the top and curtains!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

yep that's what I was thinking, may need to bolt a 2x4 to it for some leverage and brace it in place. Will take some very careful measurements first so I know what I am doing.

Yep! The 2x4 should work! Probably better to go just a tad too far than not enough! You could then add a washer or two to shim it back up that way!

My thoughts exactly. Think the rubber strip will stop it from going too low as well.

I have seen pictures in various books depicting rows of Bugeyes at the factory ready to be shipped. I was amazed at how poorly the bonnet fit from the factory. Possibly your bonnet is factory flawed. Doug
