cheshire cat fade.jpg Oh, nevermind. Was a fun animated GIF but I didn't do it right (from the web).

My 'To-Do' list is interfering with ~everything~ I want to do.

*ahem*

...I was attempting to be diplomatic.

Life life life life.... Work, kids, dying for spring to finally break. I've been busy doing blacksmithing and bladesmithing, learing some basic machining, and getting the VW Bus ready for the season. Taking boat restoration classes, dipping my toes into shooting muzzleloaders competitively (More for fun.. I'm not that good of a shot) and anything else to get into trouble.

Hey Banjo! Good to see you again! I was thinking of you the other night when I was watching a show on the History Channel (via Netflix) where a guy was trying to make an exact replica of the original (#1) BOWIE KNIFE! It was very interesting and I was amazed at how skilled he was!

You know how they made that show? They hooked sensors up to my head while I was dreaming about what I'd really like to do for a living. That guy has some exceptional talent. Trying may hand at making a flintlock or two is in my near future. I'm actually working on a Bowie knife right now. I'm making mine from a leaf spring too. But mine is one of the old springs from my dad's 69 MGB. And I'm sure mine will not quite meet the quality of the one he made. Someday, but not this one.

Haven't made a gun from scratch, which I assume is what you mean by making a flintlock, but I am restocking an 1853 Enfield that was missing the shoulder part. It'll never be original, and I wouldn't try to fire it due to age, but it seems like a fun exercise. Also need to strip down and sympathetically clean an earlier smoothbore Brunswick muzzle loader this summer.
