Harold's Heritage Certificate

I received Harold's certificate from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust.

The interesting parts for me are

a) the engine number doesn't match what is in the car (18 G-U-H 25079)
b) the trim is marked as "Navy", but the carpet and seats in Harold are black

So it appears that Harold has a few new parts. I also suspect the transmission is newer.

When I ordered the Heritage Certificate I paid extra for what they called an "Engine Search", and gave them the number of the engine in Harold. I was expecting them to send me information on that engine, but received nothing. Perhaps I misunderstood what they meant by "Engine Search"?
 
Oh Bronze Yellow, got to look that up.
 
probably pretty close to my cars color, but a bit more orange...
 
I need a close up of that colors to see ho wit matches up to my GT. I am unsure of the name of its color.
 
My engine number is missing. Where did you go for the search? And may I be as bold to ask how much it cost?
 
hmmmm... I guess that means the "engine search" option includes the original engine serials that shipped with the car? If you don't use that option, then you don't get the original engine serials?

The engine number is on a small plaque on the RHS of the engine. The certificate cost about 40 UK Pounds I think, 30 without the "Engine Search".

I don't know! If I hadn't paid for the "Engine Search", maybe they would not have included the details of the original engine number? It's an expensive option at an extra $20 !!!
 
OK I should have read their instructions more carefully. The "Engine Search" fee is for cases where you don't know the VIN/Chassis number, and you want them to search for the car based on the Engine Number alone.

Looks like I wasted my money there, but I'm a little ticked off that they charged my card for what was obviously a mistaken request.

Julian, Not knowing how particular you intend to be on the paint color for your car. There were two colors unique to 1973. They were,
Dark Jade Metalic,

I really like the Bronze Yellow. Unfortunately the car has been sprayed white at some point, and not well. I'd like to revert to the original colour: very classy. But it looks like a major operation. Perhaps that's something I will have done by professionals. I wonder if it can be done without removing all the panels etc.?
 
Of course, get a price each way.
 
I think the Bronze Yellow will look great on your car. As far as taking doors, hood and trunk lid off to paint, it's up to the painter and how fussy he is. The shop that painted my car wanted everything off to make it easier to paint the door jambs and back hinge area on the hood and trunk lid. On a GT that might be a different story. PJ
 
Yes... broze yellow looks good. Very close to Sandglow (a 76-77 specific B color), and I think Snapdragon, and seems like there was another one similar... Aztec yellow or gold or something.
 
Kenny, Sandglow and Snapdragon were MG colors, but Aztec Gold was a 1998 Corvette color. It was the poorest selling color that year and was dropped from the Corvette line. I think it looks sharp! Because of it's poor sales, An Aztec Gold 98 Vette is the rarest car for the year. I'd put one in my garage anytime! I wonder why it didn't sell? PJ
