Harmonic vibration, revisited....

Guys,
Since I have foolishly bolted my custom stainless dual exhaust system tightly to my frame, except the stock bracket beneath the tranny (which, in effect, is nonmoveable) the resultant vibration is annoying and probably potentially damaging to my manifold. What if I were able to cut somewhere between the head pipe and the tranny and install "flexible" section(s) of exhaust pipe to absorb the vibration. Makes sense to me but also seems fraught with potential problems. Rehanging the system with rubber staps, etc. is virtually impossible, but not completely so. Looking for an easy way out.

Bill

Should you decide to install a flexpipe make 100% sure it's stainless, and good quality. I've seen a lot of crappy flexpipes that quickly crack, and are an even bigger PITA to replace since the mild steel ones rust so fast (at least in Michigan).

IMHO installing a flex pipe of what ever quality would certainly relieve any strees on the manifold, but I think you will probly have the harmonic problem in the vehicle.
