Hi Guys,

As I had an agreement with a seller for a 2 seater works top for 1500,- but due to a mistake he had put a buy it now so I missed it and somebody else will have thanks to the time difference.

As I want to buy a top in time I have the following question:

What would be the prices for a complete factory top but in to be restored condition for a:

2 seat top
4 seat top

hama, I almost bought an unused new one from Florida about a year ago. His price was $3000. I believe he was willing to negotiate alittle but i didn't want to pursue it. I too would rather buy a used one and put my sweat equity into it since I usually do that kind of stuff anyway. The new ones from Cape International(I think that's the company) are in the same ball park and you must add shipping, tax, etc. I think they are all too high. So I guest you have to go from there. What is it worth to you, and how much work will it take to put it into shape. One factor to consider is that if you are not that handy to do it yourself, what would you have to pay a shop to restore it. That's what I would discount it at right from the start. Plus used is used. the next discount is that it is used. Even after restoration, it is used.
Good Luck,
Dave C.

Hi Herry
sorry for misunderstanding that avoid your bid
but not worry it is probably due to the naturalness of the seller -
You can see a Hard top seller in UK that are very similar to the originals https://www.bighealey.ltd.uk/
and sell also spare parts that fits good on original Hard Top

Hello,

the real challenge is to find a good original one. Normally the two seater HT is more expensive because of the low quantity of two seat cars.
I currently searching in europe for a 4 seat HT. But the offered HT`s are in bad condition...
If you find one, you have to pay for a 4 seat HT in europe 2000 E (2566 $) up to 4500E ( seen in Ebay Belgium, was a buy now offer) for excellent works HT. For a 2 seat HT you have to pay 3000E(3849$)up to ...what you have to pay....

I don`t like the copys in glasfiber .....whithout the aluminium brackets in the back window. Original is original....you can feel and smell the history

Bye Michel- who dream from a good 4 seat HT for 1500E...

I have broached the subject with my panel maker of having an ali one hand made, would probably be in the cost range you estimate

I don't know what he charges, but you can contact him under "Contact".

I bought a 4 seat hardtop for my 100-6 with all new hardware, rubber, and backglassfor $1,000.

I am in the process of restoring it for an April rollout.

I bought a never installed Cape Int HT for a rollup window BJ7 for $2,000. Found it on eBay. The cost of getting the top from Ohio to TX was about $500.

Have you tried to see if it fits yet? I haven't seen <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Click to reveal.. <input type="button" class="form-button" value="Show me!" onclick="toggle_spoiler(this, 'Yikes, my eyes!', 'Show me!')" />]<div style="display: none;"> [/QUOTE]</div> a top for BJ7's & 8's that's Factory style that didn't need "fitting".

Hi Patrick-

I have the top resting on the car. The fit around back looks good, but where the top rests on the windscreen frame appears to be slightly shorter at the corners than it should be.

Where abouts in Dallas do you live? I'm at Plano Parkway/Ohio.

Hope to meet you sometime at one of the club events!
