Look what I drove today - cold weather & all....but it was sunny & a great day for pictures....oh, now she looks just like she did when she rolled out of the showroom back in 1979!

Stunning. Very eye catching indeed.

Very nice, Tony...it would also compliment a white or black MGB/MGC.

Really looks nice, excellent.

Only 56 more little cars to go. hehe.

That presents itself well, Tony. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

When I went to buy it, I told the dealer I wanted a red car with overdrive, luggage roof & wire wheels - he took me out to the lot & showed me mine but it had Rostyles & a hardtop...he had a wire wheel car in another color that I didn't like so, I started to leave...he explained that he had to sell the hardtop with the car (for $50) but that if I came back the next day, it would have wire wheels.

Next day when I went back & he took me into the service department, my car had wires & a Vermillion Red hardtop...& there was the other MGB on the rack with no suspension under it & the Rostyle suspension sitting beside it ready to be bolted under....so, its a 'dealer installed' wire suspension!

All I had to do was go to the radio carousel & pick out a radio & an antenna!

They were doing anything back then to sell a car!

I was just curious, I bought a new B in 77, bright yellow(inca yellow??) and I didn't even remember wires being offered then...but maybe I just never asked. I ended up getting a hardtop and painting it to match also. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I actually remember telling him the black hardtop looked like a hemmeroid on top of the car...I kept it Red until around '95 when I decided to go back black - it still looked like a hemmeroid so I put it on my '63 black MGB..here's a photo of the only time it was on my car while black:

I've been thinking about painting the hardtops for the two 78's...I know the vermillion car will look good like that, but I am not sure about the blue.....It'll be year before I have time to fiddle with that stuff anyway, I still haven't reach my goal of having the entire fleet driveable at the same time(even if it's only for a minute or two)

The hardtop on my black '63 is black, the one on my BRG '68 MGC is black but I think I'm gonna redo it BRG...I'm thinking about doing the one for my Pageant Blue '79 V8 car Pageant when we finalize the car.

The black top on the BRG MGC looks good black, but I think it might look better BRG.

If you do the pageant blue one be sure to post pics....my blue car is also pageant. I don't really mind the black top look though...it's not much different from the soft top...but it looks even better painted.

I like it, I like it! Wow, Tony, it looks like it's just asking to be driven on a nice chilly day./ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif PJ

She really enjoyed herself...late last night Jack Laird called me & chided me for not putting the car cover on her when I put her back in the garage - so, I tucked her in under her 27 year old cover after our call....hehehehe
