Hardtop ON!

5 coats of Imron, 1800 grit sandpaper between with 3 layers of clear coat will make anything shine... luckily I didn't have do do any of that, just pay the $$$$ ..

The NOTCH clears the chrome piece that is the corner of the cockpit.
Correct! That notched hardtop fits the early cars with rollup windows, the'64-'66 Sprite MkIII & Midget MkII.

Don't think anything can be done to keep water out without causing damage in other places.

You probably won't have a hard time selling it - just don't know if you'd get all your labor costs back!

So which top is correct for that vintage of sprite?
Mark, the photo of the top I posted is correct.

Yes

Tony,.. What am i missing? You say the top is for a MK III Sprite with roll up windows? And that's the car that its on. a 1966 Sprite Mk III.

and yes.. i paid $550 for the top, $650 to have it shipped, $60 for gasoline to go get it in Portland, and $1200 to replace the truck on shich i left the parking brake unset, letting it roll into the ravine by my house and totalling it.... a nearly $2500 top.. .same as i paid for the car in the first place.

Gee, Tony.. it says right at the bottom, where my signature is that i drive a 1966 MK III Sprite. In the enlarged photo you can SEE the chrome piece. As i said, I DO have the correct top for my car, and now you agree, the top that is on the car is for the Mk III.....

Bill - Sorry, I got confused what with all the different people posting your photos & me trying to match the top to the car in their signatures....your top is correct for your MkIII Sprite/MkII Midget.....the photo of the top I posted is correct for Rick's '78 Midget (he posted a close-up of the hardtop I asked for).

& sorry to hear about your truck - I also couldn't figure out why you paid $2500 for a hardtop....

Whew. You had me just slightly nervous, as the top fit like a glove!

yippy i could log in

the 74 should have a strait bottom.
