Hardtop glass removal

I am trying to remove the window from my BN1 fiberglass hardtop. I don’t see a locking bead in the trim.
Do I have to cut it out and order new window sealing trim?

If there is no spline to remove you just need to gently pry it out or cut it carefully. If you are planning on trying to reuse it, shop around for new stock as the old stuff is probably hardened and not going to be easily reused. If it is still soft, warm it up and apply a little soapy water or iosproply alcohol for a lubricant and you might be lucky with a small flat tip screw driver or some picks to get it started. I suspect oncecyou get it going it will come out easily.

George--

If by saying 'CUT IT OUT" you are considering cutting the window my advice is DON"T! Better to destroy the seal or even create a notch or other starting place in the fiberglass top itself in order to get the seal started out, which damage can easily be repaired.

When I installed the rear window in my top I found that changes as small as 1/16 of an inch made the difference between fitting or not and if in cutting the window you change its dimensions I think you ruin it as a pattern and you will have to spend many hours in replicating its current dimensions.

Good luck on what is a tough job.
