Gentlemen,
I am restoring a hard top for a TR6. There are 5 small plastic studs pop riveted on the back shelf on my top. They are spaced out as if to recieve a cover that would go from behind the seats to the rear deck if the top were in place.
After removing the old upolstery I found an additional 2 holes that could recieve the same studs. My question is, are the 5 or 7 studs supposed to be there ? And was there ever a cover provided, maybe as an option to go there ?
The only purpose I could see for it would to keep valuables out of sight. Thanks, Phil

I've never seen a cover for the back shelf. Maybe somethng the PO came up with.
I have a copy of the factory assembly and installation instructions. I'll send you a soft copy if you'll send me your email address.

Bob, I have the Fitting instructions and they don't show the studs on parts diagram. In the instructions they do mention 7 stud fasteners on the rear and side shelf, I just missed it. It would be interesting to find out what they intended to fasten to them. Phil
 
The hardtop can be installed with the soft top folded down into the tub. I have a cover that fastens to the hardtop and covers the soft top.
 
That makes perfect sense. I had thought that the soft top had to come out. No more problem of where to store the soft top. Is the cover configured the same as the only smaller to fit inside the hard top? Phil
