Hard to installation help

I have had my hard top for many years, but never installed it. Mine is a BMC top from what I understand from previous discussions. It has the two chrome latches in front. On the side it just has two posts coming down behind where the side curtains would be. Just a few questions:1) Does it sound like I have all the hardware? 2) Can someone tell me how these are installed? Pics of the rear attachment would help. 3) Did these tops ever have serial numbers or other identifying tags, and if so, where would it be located? Help with any of my question would greatly be appreciated.
Kevin

Kevin, My BMC hardtop does have a serial number, 4500 something if I recall. Rear uses some J hooks with thumbscrews that attach under the rear deck. There is a company in UK that sells all original hardware, seals, and even the window. Someone will chime in with name but I have in PC at home. Take a look at the link re hardtop values and yiu can see the pics of mounting hardware.

Where is the serial number located? Does anyone have a picture of the rear hardware? It would be nice to get the company name. All I have in the back are the two posts.

I am on my cell.. The serial number is located on the plate that mounts the bolt to the soft top bracket in the car. I started a post a few thread a few days ago about a works hardtop. The link shows some good shots of a perfect top. When I get home I can get some better pics.

Bolts with thumb nut's drop down through the brackets on your car that normally you put the posts of the soft top in. That is all that holds it at the back.

This is the page from the parts book # 8 & 9 are the brackets that mount to the top behind the seats. If yoy have these you need a bolt and a wing nut Moss has the wing nut listed for MGA or Big Healey side curtains the bolt was part # HBZ532 I have a list that tells the size of BMC hardware bu part number....I'll look for it.

Hi MGFish, I was wondering which "parts book" you used to get the hardtop diagram? I've got an early (12/58) factory service parts catalog and it doesn't have anything on the works hardtop. Thanks!

The parts book is AKD3567 BODY.

# 8 & 9 are the brackets, they are handed and I guess that's why the picture looks so different

That's an understatement!
Look's like I have what I need then.
