So after much carb doings with little effect and much affect on my part, remembered back 10 yrs or so to Healey that started great but skipped at high Revs when hot (opposite of Jag,)after replacing fuel pump and similar carb analysis did not fix, finally checked electrics and connector from dist was marginal at coil, 60 sec of wire stripping and solved. So went to coil on Jag, tried to unscrew the connector cap and finally just got a bunch of crumbled Lucas magic substance and real mess down in coil. New coil from Moss, $4.00 new wire with connectors local autoparts. Just to check voltage on side lead,I pushed button and instant vroom. Amazing, just as with Healey it was marginal connection at coil, which had an opposite heat sensitivity to Healey.
