I've had somewhat of a love affair with British cars since my first one, a 1972 MGB. I Loved driving that car before kids when I traded it for a family vehicle.
I did not venture back into the fray until many years later when I bought my first Jaguar, a beautiful black XJ8. I drove 6 different iterations of the XJ8 with the last one being a 2002 XJ8L. My wife decided at that time to move to a smaller vehicle so we moved a XF much to my chagrin. I much preferred the larger, more comfortable XJ8's. As a final compromise, I talked her into our current 2017 Jaguar F Type convertible. Now that car makes me smile.
When we downsized the Jaguar, I used that as an excuse to get a full size Ranger Rover. Three Range Rovers later I am currently driving my 2018 Range Rover Supercharged.
5 years ago I was looking for something to play with when I retired and found a beautiful 1954 Bentley R Type sedan, Black over Silver. At that time I joined both the RROC (Rolls-Royce/Bentley Owners Club) as well as the local Jaguar Club (JAGIN). I have had bot the F Type Jaguar as well as the Bentley R Type in numerous car shows and actually became a Concourse Judge for both groups. I just recently returned from the RROC Annual Meet in San Diego after a week of fun and judging some very unique PM's. (Proper Motorcars).
My latest addition came from the Mecum Auction here in Indy in May. Having been to London on two occasion and riding in iconic London Black Taxis, when I saw one for sale at the auction I decided to add that to my fleet as well. So now I am the owner of an 1979 FX4 Austin London Black Taxi and a member of the Vintage London Taxi Association (VLTA).
As a member of this Forum, I look forward to learning more. sharing what I know and hopefully make some new friends. Who knows, maybe someone will tell me why I shouldn't buy a Morgan that I have been contemplating for the last couple of years.
