Wild turkeys can, and do fly, but you don't want to eat one, as a friend found out.
Yep. Had one perched on the peak of a two-story apartment roof in the early morning back in PA in the late '70's. I'd thought they couldn't fly well. That was proof enough for me that they can. One of the family bow hunters got one long before that and had said they aren't worth the trouble.
