Not only is it Pi Day 3/14 but it's also Albert Einstein's birthday. Have a piece of pie to celebrate.

Eric - ever see the movie "Pi"?

Not exactly a "pi" focus, but *very* interesting ... and weird.

Tom

Had a piece of homemade lemon icebox pie last night - blood sugar was 200 this morning!!

No, Pi are round. Cornbread are square.

I know, I know, but somebody was going to say it sooner or later.

Stuart.
No, 1/4pi

I heard this on the radio today that while the value of pi has been computed to more than a trillion digits, elementary applications, such as calculating the circumference of a circle, will rarely require more than a dozen decimal places. For example, a value truncated to 39 decimal places is sufficient to compute the circumference of any circle that fits in the observable universe to a precision comparable to the size of a hydrogen atom.

I also remember reading that when the first Appollo moon shots were made, that they just used 3.14 in all their calculations.

Take it easy today. too much pi, and tomorrow you'll need to "Beware the ides of March"

I work with Dr. Einstein's cousin, Dr Fred Einstein.
Fred has a PhD. in Physics (what else?) and teachs mostly second-year students at our community college.
We like to tell people that if you want to take Einstein for physics, our school is your only choice!

I drive through Princeton on a regular basis and usually go down Mercer Street so I can see Albert's old house (#112).

I shall have to stop at the local Einstein's Bagel shop to celebrate!!! (I wonder if they sell Pi along with bagels!)
