And George III lost his chance to rule Paradise.
 
A dandy looking chap, George III was.

Americans are famous for their strong work ethics.

I just can't picture in my mind, George III felling trees
to build log cabin shelter or digging clay mud to make bricks.

Wishing all a wonderful day celebrating our Independence today :cheers: . I will be glued to the TV this evening watching The Capital Fourth on PBS. As in the past few years, I will be watching my son performing with the USMC Commandant's Own Drum & Bugle Corps and even though I am recording it, I still have to watch it live!! Happy 4th all :thumbsup: !!! (for anyone interested who may be watching, he is the second-tallest guy at 6' 5" in the band and plays a mellophone - "large-bell bugle")

If he had paid attention to the colonies instead of poncing around getting his picture taken, I wouldn't have had to mess around getting my green card.

Still about 3 years before we can apply for citizenship, but we are looking forward to that day.

On a personal note, I want the drizzle to stop. I was picking my car back up from the shop after some minor adjustments but since I don't have side curtains and have never used the top, decided today would not work. Maybe tomorrow it will clear and I can bring Fagin back home for the rest of the weekend. At least we had decided not to host a picnic today.

But it is better out now that last night. We sat through nearly two hours of rain delay at the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs vs. Scranton Wilkes-Barre Yankees AAA baseball game when the called the game and postponed the fireworks. And the Pigs were ahead when the rains came. At least we enjoyed the pre-game concert by the Allentown Band who had just returned from a concert in St. Tropez, France.

Yours truly helping the young 'ns to sign the "Declaration of Independence".

Last year, a boy and girl wrote their names as "John and Abigail Adams". We all laughed, 'til we discovered they are direct descendents of our second president, and really are named John and Abigail.

We'll also "get the ball rolling" for our candidate for president - William Henry Harrison. Those were the days - when women could all bake bread, presidential candidates were chosen in smoke filled rooms, and a vote could be had for only a drink of whiskey.

I remember my visit to St. Tropez for other reasons; Four of us on our own, all 17/18 years old and it was quite the eye-opener.

He lets mind wander and drifts away...

Wow, Dave! Friends of mine were there too!! One got to throw out the first pitch. Did the ex-Philly guy get to pitch fer th' Pigs? I understand the place was sold out as soon as word was on th' street he'd be there.
 
Brett Myers (Phillies opening day starter) pitched on Thursday night and Brian Mazone was pitching last night. Mazone was picked for the AAA All-Star game and looked good for his two innings. Most nights have been sold out lately as I have had trouble getting anything but lawn seating (a hill behind the left field fence) for most recent games, and we even have the home games on TV (cable). They are second in the league in attendance even thought they started the season 0-11, but are now around .400 in their record and no longer in last place. It is a great stadium to be a spectator. But there were about 15 first pitches thrown out (they like to let a representative of each group in attendance through out a ceremonial pitch...
 
Ah... This was Thursday evenin' (which WAS last night, methinks). I'll have t' razz 'em aboout th' first pitch thing. :wink:

So you can send as many as you like, but you can't send it to a bunch of people at once? I don't see the difference between sending a link in an email and sending it to a group on a forum. Hmmm...
 
Well, while I really don't quite understand how I would be doing anything but perhaps generating additional interest in someones beautiful work, I have removed the link in order to avoid any problems all around!
 
Well, now that tempest-in-a-teapot has blown over, I trust all had a great 4th!
