Here she is guys. Just got back from my painter's shop and got my first look at my GT. It looks even better then I imagined. Not an original colour to be sure but Mary and I are very happy with the result of our choice.
After what I have done with this and the time I have spent.. this truly is a special moment. The next special moment will be when it is on the road.
The pictures were taken in three different areas, in the paint booth, outside, and in the storage area of the shop, so the car seems to have a couple different shades to it. My painter's name is Richard Brice and he is just up the road from me in Innisfil. Wonderful man he is.
So, here are the pictures I took today. She is coming home on Monday afternoon so I am sure to grab more then. And.. before anyone asks, there is a reason some of the interior isn't sprayed.

Be Nice please...

Beautiful color!!

Are you going to drop the front beam to repaint/rebuild?

Okay, I'll bite - why isn't the interior painted?

Did I say, "Beautiful Color"?

Thanks for the acceptance of the colour. Tony, if you mean by the front beam, the front crossmember.. I rebuilt it totally with everything new a couple years ago. It is all POR15ed and I'll just have to go over it with some Tremclad or Rustolium to cover up the overspray. I have to do the inner wheelwells anyway so I told him it wasn't an issue.
Stuart... I have no idea what colour it is or anything even close. I will have to come up with a nickname for it anyway to suit it.

Ah - couldn't really see the beam.....but, why didn't you paint the interior? Curious minds want to know....

It's MINT!

...or a "Minter"

Looks good!

Bought a Moss Deluxe interior several years ago in black since it was black when I got it. Seats are original black cloth and vinyl and in great shape, just need a steam clean, so black it is.

Will be a beautiful combo!

At first glance,I wasn't real fond of the color.
But after looking at the pictures a few times,I was
thinking I might get to liking it.
I'd like to see some pictures of it with all of
the trim,etc. on it.

wow your project has come a long way Paul, the car looks better than great!!

i justlove the colour, also can't wait to see your coupe done !!

I'm so jealous....Makes me want to start over with ours....

Really, there's no feeling like the one you get after completely doing a total, "frame off" rebuild of a car! Better than new, and all yours. :yesnod:

Never done it with an LBC, but pretty close. I did do one with a '70 Mustang about 15 years ago.

You're a lucky man. Enjoy it to the fullest, Paul.

And give us photos of the restoration.

Cheers!

I hope someday I'll know that feeling!
