Doc: what's for eats? We're doing prime rib of beef, roasted little red potatoes and fresh string beans. pat's doin an Italian lemon tart for desert.

All my side of th' clan are up there west of you so I miss the traditional Italian fete. We're with Horsemits' side so it goes Ukrainian "down here".
Either way I'm a PIG.

There will be a ham, M.I.L.'s genuine German potato salad, cabbage rolls (pigs-in-a-blanket), all manner of veggies and salads... I'll need to go torpid on a hot rock after the feeding. :smirk:

I'M THERE!!!!!! yummy! My aunt is taking us out to dinner... I have no idea what they have... I'll report later.
Have a Blessed Easter everyone! May it be filled with family, friends, and good food!

He is risen indeed! (sorry had to do it!)

I don't know, but Basil edited several posts in this thread.

Anyway, Happy Easter to all. The day is shaping up beautifully weather wise here on Long Island.

Geeeeeeee! What's goin' on?

Anyway, I have a dilemma. Is it the cab or merlot with prime rib of beef?

I'd go with a cab, but most of the females I know would want the merlot. They're weird. :jester:

Is that "cab" as in cabernet sauvignon or cheap a** beer??
:thirsty:

Personally, I drink E(xpensive)AB's.

Edit: BTW, whatever YOU AND YOUR GUESTS LIKE is what's appropriate for any dish.

Since I've had problems with this in the past...For clarification, is that cab=the red stuff, or CAB=the amber fizzy stuff?

cab for cabernet savignon - a truly popular red wine - but not a sparkling variety. Grown in many places, Bordeaux, Tuscany, Napa Valley, Sonoma County, Australia, etc, etc. In recent years many wineries have blended it with other reds , like shiraz, and merlot.

today will be the cab from Tuscany, Signano Rosso San Gimignano

In this case it's th' red stuff, Greg.

CAB would be th' fizzy amber one.

Happy Easter to all of you as well. We did the traditional Polish breakfast of raisin toast, hard boiled eggs cooked with onion peels, fresh kielbasa and horseradish. The traditional egg breaking - I lost, husband won. And lastly, coffee and orange juice. For dinner we will have roast pork (bone in), smashed potatoes, carrots, biscuits and the usual relishes. Dessert is apricot Easter bread and killer Almond Roca bar cookies - only used 3 sticks of butter. Good eating to all.
