I have a streaming service that had the original ST and I do enjoy watching them. Some of the episodes were almost believable, but a lot were just plain corny. The 1st season was the best IMHO but it went down hill from there.

I agree that the first season was the best. The Balance of Terror (the one with the cloaked Romulan ship, kinda like The Enemy Below) is one of my all time favorite TV episodes.

Slight back story, Stratford Ontario has a huge Shakespeare theatre. Apparently during the war Mrs JP's father acted at the Old Vic in London as the older actors had gone to war (he was in his teens at the time). When he came to Canada he hung out at Stratford and helped with the tents (which is all they had in the 50's) and backstage and then would party with his British actor friends. This included his friend Maggie Smith. The problem with the story is that Maggie didn't come to Stratford until the early 70's.
So, why the story? because a few years ago I went to Stratford to see if, in the archives, I might find pics of Mrs. JP's dad - in backgrounds. I couldn't but, was given access to many pics from the day - many of which showed Shatner acting Shakespeare - great old B&W photos!
