Hanging rear spring on a 65

I am questioning the spacer washers necessary to hang the rear springs in the forward brackets. When I took them off they had a steel washer and a plastic washer on each side of the spring head VB shows this in their catalog. I have replaced the original bushings with poly. Those four pieces no longer fit in the bracket but two will. I take it that the shoulders on the poly bushings may replace the original plastic washers?

So should I use a metal washer on each side or the plastic washers on each side. One or the other fits snuggly but no way is the original configuration going to fit. Sorry about the fuzzy pic.

when you use the poly you still need to retain the original steel spacers (Washers) Did you get some of the poly grease to coat them buchings with? You want to do that so you dont get sqeaking later.

You may find the Spring Hanger no longer fits in there. Can't remember who I got mine from VB or MOSS but it would not fit. Sleeves for the big bolt were too long but a whole lot and I needed to take the angle Grinder to mine in order to make it fit.
