Handbrake lever

I've seen some painted, some chromed. What is the proper way to refinish the handbrake lever?
As always, thanks.
Jim

Mine, BN6L-942, came chromed. I recently had it rechromed, but it won't be fitted until an upcoming xmsn swap.

Congratulations on your (and the BJ7's) appearance in the latest issue of Healey Marque (Feb. 2010; page 29).

Might as well show off the gear lever too!

The "short" one is my original (as seen in my previous post) and what I consider must be a "RHD" was found on Ebay as N.O.S. Iit appears to have never been used). I'll fit it to the car, but if it crosses too far right of center, I'll refit my original, even though the groove in the ball is wallowed out a little bit. If anyone needs a RHD lever, I can probably be talked out of it, so long as I recoup my costs.
