Handbrake cable length?

In my pile of parts I found two handbrake cables. They are basically identicle except one is about 4" longer. My question is which one should go on my 64 BJ8? Thanks and have a merry Christmass and happy New Year?

The BN4-BJ8 handbrake cable is 41 1/2" long from the end of the factory swaged fork end to the other end of the threaded rod. Neil
