'65 3000, new rear shoes and as tight as I dare on all adjustments at rear. Handle all way up to get activation so as described in Haynes manual I went to the nut at the handle end of the cable which is up between drive shaft and frame rail. Any hints as to how to get a wrench on the nut (?size) or other ways of functionally shortening cable. As always thanks for the valuable advice. jay

Hi Jay,
It's much easier to adjust at the back end of the cable. See item #21 in this drawing. As you say, adjusting the front end is a real war.
