Haiti scams

Scams are starting as if no one expected that. Received an email with poor spelling and grammar from someone calling themselves crisis.relief with an office in NY but tel# is unlisted in Seattle.

Wish these people would be caught and shipped to Haiti where they can live on the street for a few months punishment.

That's a good reminder, Bruce. Inevitable that such devils will surface during a crisis. This underscores the need to give only to reputable organizations. Or better, to one with which you're associated. I'm a Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid trainer: I KNOW that the Red Cross will take care of the funds I donate.

Red Cross has a very respectable balance sheet and is not top heavy with overhead costs.

Be careful where your donations go . . .

Yup. Even before the disaster(s) hit there are organizations not to be trusted. Don't assume everyone wanting money will be putting yours to good use.
