Hail storm 5-21-14

Offline
We had terrific storms last night that delivered anywhere from 1" to 3" of rain about 7pm.

Included was hail...

My area had pea-sized hail....about 30 minutes south of me they received baseball to grapefruit sized hail....did a LOT of damage.

A lot of farmland is also washed out ans will need to be replanted.

:(

This picture was sent in to the local CBS affiliate by an individual livinf in Tuscola, IL.

Awful for everyone in the area. I hate to say it, but this may be "the new normal".

HOLY COW! That's some nasty killya hail! I can imagine what everything in that area looks like. Especially the cars! It probably looks like the whole town got attacked by baseball bats.

Pretty impressive. I hope you didn't have any cars parked in the drive.

We had a big hail storm in Berks County, PA (Reading). Lots of broken windshields and they even had the PLOW trucks out to clear the road of all the hail.

That may be the nastiest hail I have ever seen and I live right in the middle of hail and tornado country.

I learned yesterday that the restored B-17, Aluminum Overcast, was still in Champaign (Savoy) and was sitting on the tarmac during the storm. She suffered some hail damage; repairs are being made locally until she can be cleared by the FAA to fly back to Oshkosh, WI for complete repair. Too bad there was "no room at the inn" for her in one of the hangars on Wednesday night. :(
