Had trouble with Prestone Power Steering Fluid?

Anyone had any trouble using Prestone Power Steering Fluid in Jags with power assisted steering?

My steering rack in my 87 XJ6 has been leaking for a while. I just put a rebuilt steering rack in the car and filled the system using the Prestone fluid. In the space of fifteen minutes I had fluid pouring out of both rack gaiters.

Even if the fluid attacked the seals, I would not have expected it in 15 minutes.

What experiences have you had?

I don't think anything reacts with seals that fast - especially both of them. I'd look at the seals to see if they were installed backwards (if at all). Even human re-builders make mistakes.

An 87 XJ6 uses Dexron III of Type F ATF for power steering fluid not a power steering fluid found in most cars. I use type F for fewer leaks.
