Had the chance to test out Franks brakes yesterday

After work I went over to the local Grange store and on my departure turning left into the nearest (center) lane on a road that has two lanes in each direction a very (very) large pickup truck came out across the street. He entered the roadway from a driveway about 75 - 100 feet down the road. He did not simply enter his lane, but began angling across into mine. That was at about the time I had reached the position that he apparently intended to occupy.

I hit the brakes pretty hard and locked up all four wheels.
The sound of that must have made him finally notice that I was there as he was already taking up half my lane. He swerved back over into his own lane, but before I passed him I looked over and guess what? Very darkly tinted side and back windows, I couldn't see the driver at all they were so dark. (makes it pretty hard to aim) /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Darkly tinted windows are illegal here in my state, but I didn't think at that moment to take down his license plate. If I see him in town again the State Patrol is getting a call. I was so ticked off I just had to get out of there, if not I would have done something that I might have regretted.

A drive in the Midget later and I was back to serenity, but it took 15 to 20 minutes of driving to get there.

Scary! That's my (and I assume all of ours) fear. The Sprite is onlt driven on weekends for me, and in more rural areas. Glad to hear you were aware and driving defensively!

Just the thing for raising the shutter speed on your sphincter...
