Had a chat with a Trooper this morning.

We have some 70 in TN and NC. 65 max in Virginia which is crawling with various police looking for speeders. Only state that outlaws radar detectors, too.

Not everywhere in TN we have 65 In Sullivan County. Something about a way to save on Smog. and they do inforce it very Badly

A suggestion for the speeders on here: don't move to Virginia. A new law went into effect on July 1, 2007 that makes high speed prohibitively expensive. According to thenewspaper.com, "Driving as little as 15mph over the speed limit on an interstate highway now brings six license demerit points,a fine of up to $2500, up to one year in jail, and a new mandatory $1050 tax." Do a search for new virginia speeding laws if you want to read more about it.

& what about that fine if you're caught with a radar detector in VA!

Last time I was "caught" horsing around at "somewhere over the limit /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif " on a tuning run, the kindly officer just told me to "take it up onto the interstate (we have a couple of "lonely" stretches nearby!) if you want to run hard!" I thanked him for the warning and the advice and have since heeded the advice /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif !!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif
