Gunson Colortune

I gave away a Gunson Colortune 25 years ago cause I thought it was too difficult to use. I have recently heard good things about it and am considering buying one again. I read the reviews on it and they were not too favorable but they were motorcyclist reviews. What does the collective British car wisdom of the forum think of it?

The only way I could sync the 2 Webers on my Elan was with a Colortune. I didn't obsess over getting the colors "right" based on the chart but just tried to get the cylinders to match. Syncing that setup was like syncing 4 separate carbs. I had far less luck with a Unisyn on that car.

I found it less useful on my MGB but getting those carbs right was never a problem.

I love the Colortune (that a buddy has). Wonderfully simple confirmation that all is right.

I've got a pair of 'em. Easier to tweak dual carbs that way.
