Here's a strange looking car, spotted in Italy (not by me!)

The Red one is an Alfa Romeo, not sure about the model though... The silver one next to it looks like a GTA.

The red car is an ALFA. I think it's a modified 2900 cc V8 LeMans car....sort of a one-off racer based on the street coupes of the day.
Many of these 2900 racers look a bit different from each other, but there is likely a number that look roughly similar to this car.
This is an example (with somewhat stilted appearance) of the famous "airline coupe" styling that was seen in the early 1930s......even MG had an airline coupe. Other well-know airlines came from Talbot and Bugatti. Many of the LeMans racers of the time had this "aero" styling.
Similar car HERE :

It also may just some home-brew special....it seems like every other Tom, Dick and Mario in Italy has built something like this! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

The silver car next to it looks like an ALFA GTA or a GT 1300 Jr.
The convertible in the lower picture looks like some sort of Lancia.

The script on the silver cabrio looks like a Lancia Flaminia, but the body doesn't. (the Flaminias were better looking) I can't place it, but it certainly is a Lancia.

Yeah, I had thought of Alfa Romeo with that red car but it was so unusual looking...

And I'm pretty sure the bottom one is some sort of Lancia, likely coachbuilt by one of the design houses.

Here are some pictures from the guy who posted these ones... Italian Cars Photoset

I want that GTV!!! GIMME!!! NOW!!!

(The GTA had "hook" style door handles. It's a 1750 or 2L GTV. Most likely a 1750 by the T/S lenses in evidence)

Did'ja see the LANDING LIGHT inna grille of the Aero?!!? WOOHOO!! Burn th' chrome off'n the bumper of the car ahead of ya with that thing!

I thought it was a GTV also although I was guessing.

Is that another Alfa in the second photo, across the street where the guy is standing in the brown coat, parked next to the 356? Looks like it's red with a black hood.

Yessir. Good eye.

I doubt the red car is an Alfa. The wheels are straight off of an early fifties Lancia. Plus, look at the size of the thing in comparison to the GTV in the background. Early Alfa sports cars are much bigger than the red car. Methinks it's a homebrew based on an Aurelia.

The silver car in the second photo is a Lancia Flavia, as it says so on the bootlid. Dunno who did the bodywork, though it looks a lot like the Touring work on the Flaminia convertible.
