Took stuff to a shop last week to have a couple of u shaped spring clamps built. Whent to pick up up today, job sucked. Heck I can do better than that myself.

Guess I need to find another machine shop, not a welder/machine shop. He did punch out the rear bushings though.

Bummer.

What were you having made? Any pics of what the original looked like?

Quarter epipic springs have two U shaped clamps around them. They are rivited on one of the leafs and a bolt goes through the under side. This keeps the spring in shape and place.

The item is unavailable from the usual sources etc etc

I had to cut two of them off to remove the spring, other side is fine. So I must find another spring or build these peices. Only race springs 10 leaves are available it seems and the stock ones are 15. Race springs will be last resort.

Anyone have an extra old spring??

Jack:

I feel so bad that threw my old ones out just when you started Agatha.

If you do go with the rally\10 leaf springs be prepared to remove some of the leaves because the are alot stiffer than the OE and make the car sit significantly higher.

I removed three from mine and I melieve that 58 bugeye? removed two from his.

Did you try a local spring bending place?

When mine were rebent new straps were put on them.

Can't you find a junk yard part for these or are they too rare?

Hay, I live down here in the we don't have one of those places.

Would prob have to go to atlanta anyway.

Jach,

Which two of the three bands do you need exactly?

The ones that look like they are made of flat stock and have a rivit through them.

I just may have to try a junk yard for one spring.

Oh my goodness, hugs Chris. I am really at a loss for words.

Thank you so much.

Again I owe ya.
