GT6 GT6 trans issue

Hi Guys,
I have a Spitfire vintage racer with a recently rebuilt GT6 trans. I was having difficulties shifting into reverse but has never been much of an issue because I rarely use it, but this weekend I can't engage it at all. I'm pushing down, going to the left and foward, but it's like I'm still in neutral, I don't even get grinding of gears. Any suggestions/input would be appreciated.

Rick, you certainly need to look at the idler gear for missing teeth or the idler gear shifter may have a worn pin on one side or the other.

Gotta think its a linkage problem. Only time I had gear selection problems, it was that white nylon/plastic piece - it must have cracked (creating vague gear selection), then disintegrated into pieces - leaving nothing to select.

I think you might be right, it does appear to work on and off. I'll check the linkage.
