Well, after the hiccup caused by the puff-o smoke in the cowl delayed the interior resto portion of the SPIT 6 project ... i am back on track.

Took a few hours to trim, cut, add gaskets and padding to get the GT6 transmission cover to fit properly in the Spitfire cockpit. Now have that secured in place, hooray!

OOPsss! I forgot to find the reverse light switch. Will i need to remove the tranny cover? exactly where is this little gem?

Try looking here...

thanks jim.

Figures, with my luck. I am, however getting real handy at setting the tranny cover in and out of the cockpit. should be able to do so now blindfolded.

i am guessing, based on the previously absent temp sender wire, and the totally absent horn circuit (yes, all parts missing)that IF the switch is present to signal reverse gear...I will find no wire.

reverse lites aren't much good in daylite...and nobody in thier right mind drives these cars after dark. Your best bet is to concentrate on the stub axels and trunnions that are going to break off.

Well, you are talking undercarriage, and I can't seem to get out from under the dash yet. in a couple of days i will have the carpet back in place, then i'll be worried about seats.

the undercarriage items will wait until i have a comfy cockpit for the missus. After all, it is she that approved the budget.

i'll letcha teach me all you know about spitfire undercarriage in a few weeks.

besides, forward or reverse, Lord Lucas says that both shall be dark.....neither being brighter than the other.
