GT6 GT6+ front shock

My right front shock just had the plate with the three studs, but the left one has a disk between the top plate and the coils. The catalogs (VB and SpitBits) do not show this "spacer" in their diagrams. Any ideas out there?
Also since I've never been to either Harkness or BCD, what would be the suggestion as best to see GT6+ for picture taking. I'll be at Boca Raton on 2/15 for their show, but would like to go to our local shows and meet some of youse guys at the same time.

The disk was placed on the driver's side to raise the front end a bit to offset the weight of the gas tank and the driver being on the same side.

Thanks Jim! BTW I was at your site last night, again. Need to hear that gt6 exhaust once more to keep my restoration on target.

Right. Of course, this was only seen on LH steering cars, and LH steering Heralds and Vitesses had the same fitting, since the gas tank was always on the LH side of the car regardless.
