Is it easier to replace the front glass on a GT as apposed to the roadster?

I want to get my GT project painted and would love to remove all the glass and replace the rubber seals as well for a better paint job.

Good luck with the chrome strip re-install...I couldn't even get my body man to do those for me.

Seems like the GT and the Tourer each have their own "demons".

Yes, installing the windshield is much easier...putting the stainless back in is tricky unless you can build the little tool to slide it inside the weatherstripping.

I had two (2) GT windshields installed the same day (74.5 and my 70 3.8 V6); the guy who came out to my house didn't have any trouble with either glass, but had to have his boss come out to refit the trim. By the time I got home, both cars were done and looked great (zero distortion and the trim fit was as good as it ever was).

A note to the wise: remove your old trim yourself by slitting the old rubber weatherstrip yourself (X-acto knife or razorblade). It sure beats curling the stainless trim by trying to extract it from the rubber weatherstrip.

Just remember: sharp side of blade away from your body! Don't cut towards yourself....ask me about the scars!

Tom - you still have that extra tool you were going to sell me?...I'm going to need it on the hardtop rear window.
