GT Update

Been a while since I've posted.

This weekend I'll be removing lights, bumpers, etc. Taking it to the paint shop on Monday for a respray and to fix the small dents that happened when the tree fell on my shop a while back. While it's there, I'm having them fill in the holes for the side trim strips - I like the look without them, especially on a white car.

I've driven it a bit, and it seems to be running well. Finally believe I have it set up pretty close to where I want it, and have corrected the oil leaks up top. When I get it back from paint, I'll be installing new rear springs and bushings, as they're pretty tired.

About the only thing left to do then will be to have the A/C lines made up and charge the system, along with hooking up the heater hoses.

What a ride this has been!

Re: GT Update

sounds great - of course pics will be required before very long.

Re: GT Update

Yeah - I've been lax in that department.

A bit drizzly today. The car's on the trailer, and I hope to get some bits off of it later today. Will see if I can snap a few then. Don't believe I've documented the tree damage.

Re: GT Update

Good work, Mickey. I'll admit that I do like the look of these cars without the side trim -- the line is still there, it's just a bit more subtle.

Quite the project you've been doing, that's for sure.

Re: GT Update

Hey Mickey!
just wondering how the body shop will handle the front fender lowers where they are spot welded at the seam. Just using filler will probably crack. Welding the seam solid will warp it alot. Looking forward to see what they do. I am working on the 63 B I got from Tonys estate now. Have fun! Bob

Re: GT Update

Hey, Bob -

Yeah, I'm curious to see how he tackles it as well.

Good to hear that you're on the '63. Nice car to work with.

Dave (14dna) and I will be in E. Tenn. next month - the 4th through the 9th. Any chance we can get together somewhere?

Thread is in the Pub - "November in the Smokies"

Re: GT Update

DO it!!

As for that seam, p'raps the panel epoxy SEM or other guys make may be a good answer.
