GT Conversion Update
Still plugging away. I've been trying to identify a problem with the steering - much too tight and too much effort to turn. Double-checked toe-in, and it's close enough. Double-checked the lube of the kingpins - OK there. Already posted about changing out the front springs - not related, but nice to have that done.
Anyway, just noticed the steering rack shaft is rubbing on the engine mount bracket, so I've contacted the designer/seller of the conversion kit to see if there's an easy fix for that. Otherwise, I suppose I'll have to put some spacers under the bracket to raise the mount. YUCK!! Tight fit there!
But on a positive note, I did get some more done on the interior:
You can just see the A/C/Heat unit hanging under the dash below the glove box; still plenty of foot room there. Vents are in the center of the dash and at each lower corner. Controls are incorporated into the center radio console on either side of the 12V power port.
One more shot, showing the door panel, complete with top rail. Couple more carpet pieces, and the interior will be done.
Soon as I straighten out the steering issue, I'll be ready to make a few shake-down drives!
