Saturday was the annual 'polar bear run' with the local Triumph club. It was also ground hog day, and if Phil were here, he'd have seen his shadow as you can see in these pictures. I'm sorry that I couldn't get all the Triumphs in a single picture, but it was a sight anyway.

Hmm, no TR4 in that picture... But you are right, it was a great day out there!

Randy

Great Pic's! Was it in Rosenberg? Kind of looks familiar, Haven't been there in many a year. Last time was in the '90s. My number 3 son got married there.
How many LBC's were there?

Tinkerman

Kind of nice-looking pin striping on that green 6
in jpeg 2. Different. Not so sure for me....but, it
still makes it stand out as special. Green and gold,
good combo.

Tinkerman: As an aside, if I haven't commented before that
you read, any way, my days as a youngster I got close to
some boys from Tennessee. Don't know how long you been
there, but that accent brings back fond memories of
friends gone by. Too young to stay in touch. Actually
only saw them seasonally as they moved to/through
California picking crops with their parents. My parents
divorced; we moved away and I never saw my friends from
Tennesse again. Some good folk.

Not positive, but I think that pin striping was a dealer, or possibly factory option. I think TRF used to sell them, maybe they still do?

Randy

Tinster had those stripes on the original Crypt Car, back in the day when it spent more time on stands than on the road.

He took them off after the demon attacked Dave and he's turned the car into a chick magnet ever since

Wish I'd known you were there - I'd have come to look, all the way from Richmond!

Roger-

It is a shame, your Lotus would have looked good there I'm sure. We had about 3 MG varieties and a very spiffy Bugeye that looked fantastic.

Randy

Roger, you should join the club and/or read the newsletter.

Tink, yes, Rosenberg-Tx. I counted 17 LBCs, but it could have been more (I was late).
1 TR3b, 1 TR2, several TR6s, a couple spits, a stag, a MG, bugeye and a single TR4 (that wasn't parked in the line of red TR6's).

Funny thing was, I was asked if I knew who owned the TR4, and claimed I didn't. Then when Randy looked at me and nodded hello, I didn't recognise him. Then I post pictures and don't include his car. Sorry TR4NUT, sometimes I can be such a knucklehead. It was good to be there and see everyone out with tops down.

The Green/Gold TR6 is a better runner than a looker (and it looks good no matter how close yuo get). It's really sharp. The owner just installed 16" wheels so he could get performance tires. He has 2) TR6s and a TR3, but he prefers to drive the "green one". I remember the advertisements on TV with those stripes. It looked to me like the hood was run over by a truck.

It was a nice day indeed. With the TR4 still in bits I was thinking about coming down in the Healey but didn't make it in the end. Oh well, next year I'll be there in the TR...

Myles

Wow, great shot that last one! That is one pretty TR4 - too bad it is spoiled by the ugly guy trying to mess with the radio antenna! Thanks Knucklehead!

And Myles, if you had to, you could've brought that BT7..
