Can anyone tell me what year/model this grill came off? We found it in my grandpas barn (he passed away recently). Thank you!

Brandon, I added the picture for you.

Note: Brandon wasn't sure where to post this. I thought it might me MG so suggested here. Anyone know for sure?

I'm pretty sure it's not an MG grille. Sorry I can't be more help.

Off the top of my head, Nash Metropolitan?

Does have similar shape as Nash Metro but I can't find any pics of a Nash with only vertical grill bars. They all seem to have vertical and horizontal bars. It resembles a Nash Healey grill, but the Nash Healey has fewer bars:

If you read thought that thread you linked to, it seems there is not firm conclusion that it's from a Nash. Also, if you look at the grill on the Nash Statesman, the ribs are much thicker on the Nash and there are 20 ribs on the Nash versus 27 on the "mystery grill."

FWIW, I have PM'd the owner of the similar grill on the other forum linked to and he said he still has no positively ID'd the grill he has.

I stumbled upon a picture of a car that has a grill very similar. It has the same basic shape and about the right number of grill ribs, including the thick areas at both sides. This picture doesn't have the center medallion but it might lead to the general make of car we're looking for. The problem is, I can't make out what kind of car this is? Anyone recognize this car?

hmmm - six letters in the name. Only thing I could find with that grill (no center piece) was a Commer. But it's a truck.

That looks like a Ford Prefect 100E to me

Looks like we have a winner!

Hey - congrats on the ID. Still can't read what appears to be a six letter name on the car in Basil's photo, but when you Google Ford Prefect, you find tons of photos with the "mystery grill".

Thanks!
Tom

6 letters - might be a Ford Consul? Don't think it's a Zephyr or Anglia, but who knows?

Edit:
The blue Prefect looks right for the grille. The white car is like a Consul in shape...

Could very possibly be a Nash grill, as this is from a Nash Statesman. Could be an earlier or later model without the hole, and possibly a different model Nash all together. PJ
