Grill Surround Question

There are 6 tabs fastened to the surround. What does the middle tab on the bottem fasten to???
Is there a process or sequence on installing the grill?
Seems as if it would be difficult to install on a freshly painted car with out scratching the shroud. Would I be
better off to install the grill prior to painting then masking it or install after? The grill has the vertical bars. Thanks Bob
 
HI Bob, the middle tab on the bottom attaches to the shroud using a small integral bracket attached to the shroud and a screw. Installing the grill in a freshly painted car can be a problem. However, if the paint is dry masking tape can be applied to the critically fitting places on the grill and removed just prior to snugging it all up.--Fwiw---Keoke
