Grill badge warning

I got the correct black grill badge. Looked like you need to "stick it on" better sand the back a bit for better adhesion. Don't do that. It takes the back coating off along with the color making light come through the front. Oops. I repainted the back side and it's okay but yeah, don't do that.

Also, don't get lazy and ignore your research when ebaying. I just paid almost three times the going rate for something I could have gotten off the shelf up street. Duh. :wall:
 
and, I recall that someone else put adhesive on the back and it ate the coating
 
Trim adhesive will eat the coating. I think the instructions say to use black RTV.
 
I don't remember any instructions but that's what I used.
 
Yup - and black rtv will help with the black areas that have lost paint.
You know how I know that I'm sure.
