:savewave: Hello to all. As you would guess i am new to this site.

A little bit about me:
I am 16 years old. I bought my first car about 8 months ago now. This car is my 72 Mg Midget. It is currently in the proses of restoration. Right now I am rebuilding the engine and hope to have it back in the car by the end of the month.

I joined this site 1. Because my parents said i needed to find a group of people that new a thing our two about Mg Midgets.
2. I have a LOT of questions, so im sure that many of you will get to know me and i will get to know you.

Here are just a few pics of my car.
(sorry i don't know why they are so small.)

By the way, i bought my car for 300 bucks.
 
Welcome, my first car was a 71 midget @ 15 for $300 bucks as well.

I can definately relate, I had it on the road just when I got my License at 17,

a great experience it was.
 
Me too, although I was 20 when I found my $300 TR3A. Drove it home ... at the end of a rope!

19 when I found my 1966 MGB. I obviously overpaid: $700.

...but it was only three years old then. :wink:
 
Oh and a little history of my car.
Originally bought new in 72 of course.
Guy who bought it got in a fender-bender about a year after he get it, and dented the right front fender. (currently being fixed.) He took it to the shop to have it fixed a week before his deployment to Vietnam. On his first day there he was shot and killed. :frown:
The mechanic heard about the incident and called the parent of the guy who got shot. He asked them what they wanted to do with the car and the parents said keep it. The car sat in his garage till 1990 when he sold it to another man. That man was in the proses of re-painting it when he ran out of money and needed to get rid of it. AND THAT'S WHEN I BOUGHT IT. :smile:

So from what i know. It hasn't been run in about 30 years. It has 35,000 original miles on it, and EVERYTHING in that car is original to the day it was bought.

from the family of the car with it's original owner?

There are a few members on here from Fort Collins,
Loveland,etc.You might try & see if they're willing to
give you some support & guidence.

When I was 16yrs young; I would have died to have a car like you do. Consider yourself very fortunate. You also have some very smart parents to direct you here.
