Greetings I Am New Here, And I Own An XKE

Basil, You are correct. I saw the front lights from another angle and made a snap decision that they were series one over the bumper. I bow to your observation . I also agree with your discussion of relative values. From an investment standpoint I do not recommend the 2+2 coupe. The coupe or roadster is the way to go. How are things in the great state of NewMexico? Best regards. Jack

An understandable mistake. Things are grand here, but would be better if I had my own EType on the road. Get a little closer every day, but still a long way to go. Once I can actually get it on wheels, I think the rest of the job will go much faster

Basil, I am going to redeem myself. I was going by the second XKE that was on this forum under this topic. That is clearly a blue series one and one half roadster with not under glass headlights but over bumper turn signal lights. I have a hard time accepting that my seventy year old eyes had made that mistake and are not infallable. My friend, forgive me for this trivia but on this forum, it is somewhat significant. Fondest regards. Jack

Indeed, the blue one does look like a Series 1 1/2 I noticed the ad claims it to have an original interior, but I am 99 percent sure that the Silver Blue color only came from the factory with either Light Grey or Dark Blue. Also, roadsters did not have air conditioning from the factory - it looks like an after factory mod (which would explain the odd configuration of the Alternator to make room for the Air Cond Pump. It is a very nice looking example, and with the very low original miles, they will probably get decent money for it (but I doubt as high as they are asking).

Well I guess I am looking for a presentable drive car if I go by your breakdown of prices.

There is a white one going at auction in NM I think next week.
Have you seen this one up close and personal?
