I happened across the BCForum while doing something else, and since I have started the project I have long avoided, thought it would be a good idea to join up.

The project I refer to is replacing the heater in my 1972 MGB roadster. After reading the Chicagoland MG Club posting of this job, I put off doing it for a whole year! I decided to make it "easier" by ripping out the interior of the car! Actually, I knew that there were other tasks lurking under the dash, so I might as well face up to it. I have seen this refered to as "mission creep" and "as-long-as-I'm-at-it" up there is some blessing in actually seeing what you are doing. All the seals were leaking on the washer nozzles and wiper wheelboxs, so I've got a little rust to deal with under the cowl...and the transmission tunnel...and the driver's footwell...you get the picture. I'm also going to clean up the instruments and install LEDs so I can actually see them.

So far, the actions of the Dreaded Previous Owner seems limited to the Honda radio and an ignition switch installed in the radio console. I have a new column switch, so I'll be restoring that. And I'll get around to a better radio as well; one I can plug the iPod into.

Well, I just finished tearing apart the wiper motor and related pieces and I need a new brush set, so gotta go.

Welcome to ya, Jerry! This is the best place for info and camaraderie regarding British cars. Sounds like you're well into it already, but post your questions and pictures over in the MG section - lots of helpful folks there ready to pitch in.

Hi Jerry,
Greetings from Snoqualmie!
I've got a few Midgets, I used to own MGB's and MGC's but have been into the Sprites and Midgets (Spridgets) lately.

There is a rule. If you see an old Jag sedan, RHD, and the driver waves at you, you MUST wave back!
