A newbie here in several ways: new to the forum of course, but also new to LBCs. In fact, I do not own one (YET!). But I know what I want: a red Austin Healey BJ8. So all you Healey forum members: I hope you do not tire of my inane questions. I am reading the back pages to learn and hopefully will not bore you too much with my ignorance, but I am no mechanic so prepare for some laughers.

Anyhow, I joined the Healey club, attend local meetings, and am on the lookout for a red BJ8 in "beautiful driver" condition. Meaning not a Barrett Jackson price, but not a ground up restoration candidate either. Hemmings and eBay get daily perusal.

You know that the chinese symbol for "crisis" is the same as the one for "opportunity", right? As I approach the big FIVE OH, I am seeing this as a big midlife "opportunity". ;-)

Welcome, Tom. You'll need that sense of humor, what with a search for a Healey, and especially to play to THIS crowd! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Be sure to post on the Healey forum - some great info and camaraderie available. And don't be shy with the questions - we're certainly not!

Hi There Tom;

This is a "Welcome Wagon" (Without the Wagon or a Healey) from the Pocono Mtns of PA:

Of all the LBCs I`ve had over my lifetime; A 3000 BJ7 or 8 is one I`ve never had: Had some Big "E-Types" and a bunch of Triumphs etc etc:

Best Wishes in Your find: Half the fun is Looking:

Tom..it's not the inane questions we mind it's the INSANE ones...nothing is pointless..WELCOME to the BCF...

Welcome from another newbie. I just got my first LBC back in May and have enjoyed every inch on the road, even when I realized that the 110 I was seeing on the temperature gauge was Celsius. But between friends here in town and help from the forum. I made it to 56 before I finally fulfilled my dream of a LBC, so you have plenty of time.

Enjoy the Ride!

'FIVE OH' - You will be one of the younger members - in British Classic Car terms, you are barely old enough to buy beer.

Welcome to a great forum - good luck with the Healy search.
