Hello! Just wanted to introduce myself. I currently do not own a British car, but I'm hoping to have one in the near future . Specifically looking for a tr7 (80-81) or an MG for my father and I to start a project together. I look forward to chatting with some of you!

Yo Kibbis - welcome to BCF!

A father/son project is a *great* way to start. Something you'll both remember forever. I think I got my interest in cars from working with my own dad, back in the 1950s, on things like points, carburetors, and spark plugs.

Yep! We are getting a bit of a late start, but it's something we always talked about. Now I just need to find a car

Thanks! I was looking through there. The $100 MG looks promising. Just not sure how I would get it here. We were looking at tr7's too because of the price. Just haven't found one to jump on yet. A few I did find seem to be over-priced.

One thing I'd suggest right off the bat - make a few posts over in the Triumph and MG forums here. Tell what you're looking for and what you plan to do (rebuild with your dad) and what you plan to do with the car afterward.

You'll get plenty of suggestions of what to consider.

Hi Kibbis and welcome the the BCF! You will find nice people here ready to offer any assistance that you may need. I am located in Lancaster, and happen to have a 1976 TR6 that I'm getting ready to list for sale.
If you have any interest, just private message me and I can fill you in with pics and details.

Well we were hoping for a later model (convertible) with the 5 speed gearbox but that's always something we could throw in there . I'd be interested with pics and info! Man off to a good start here. Thanks guys!

No problem, I'll get you some pics. This TR6 is a convertible and YES, you can put a 5-speed gearbox in.... ask me because I have a TR with the 5-speed!
Also, you happen to be in a good location.... there is an EXCELLENT source for parts and knowledge that is only about 20 mins from you.... GoodParts is the name of the company.

I completely misread that as tr7, so I hope my comment didn't confuse you. My mistake . I was talking to a guy out in British Columbia and he was talking about Goodparts but couldn't remember where in PA it was located. Good to know it's close by.
