Happy Holidays everyone!

Just joined the forum to connect with folks (I'm an island unto myself up here in Boulder), and help move along my Jag MK2 and XKE projects, and aid in my 2023 search for a Triumph TR3 (which would be my first roadster!)

First foray into the Brit world (other than partner's MGB) was when I picked up a wrecked '69 XKE shell, bonnet and title from Paul at Sportscar Craftsman in Denver a handful of years ago. Built a rotisserie and spent a good long time learning hammer and dolly work (and the use of shrinking disks, etc) to get some of the panels worked out. Stripped '84 XJ6 for 4.2 engine & front suspension, found '79 XJ12 3.31 LSD rear, 1982 BMW 733i donor car with the Getrag 265 5-speed, picked up '69 XKE intake & Strombergs (plus 2 extra) and some interior parts, set of usable early MGA roadster seats, usable gas tank/etc - plan was to make it a rough but usable track / autocross. Finally realized its just too beautiful of a car to not to restore more completely. Found my skill and talent (and wallet) stretched thin with chassis twist and necessary monocoque replacement panels (thank you Chuck @ Monocoque Metalworks for a few quotes yet no purchases yet!) so it has sat on the back burner for a bit.

Picked up the '60 Jag MK2 3.8 from Mark Eden (Hi!) which was with Ted at Ax and Allies (also Denver) after his shop went through the carbs and fuel system, but the orig BW DG-250 trans was leaking pretty badly and having issues shifting. Was able to drive it around a bit by keeping the fluid level topped off in the transmission until engine mount flex (and some mounting shenanigans on my part) put the fan into the radiator (any feedback on the aluminum replacements for the MK2? I've had good luck with the aluminum replacements on my 50's trucks). Interior and paint fully sun baked but good mechanicals in general.

Been working on my other vehicles for a while (a full mechanical refresh of my '52 International L-120 (12V conversion, custom Edelbrock 4-barrel intake setup with '89 F150 throttle pedal, modern gauges, PCV valve, full brake & axle rebuilds, etc) and my '63 International R-185 (full mechanical restoration since it had been sitting since '84, and conversion from semi to flatbed).

So now I'm back to the Jags. Mk2 getting 12V neg ground, Ford EDIS6 / Megajolt, A/C, ATI harmonic balancer and serpentine belt setup (all of which is already purchased), spin on filter mod, etc then DIY suspension rebuilds, DIY $50 rustoleum paint job and super inexpensive interior redo (probably use the leather seats from the BMW 733i just stained black, then rear seat redone and some side panels and a few walnut strips). Maybe DIY Mazda Millenia Supercharger (rebranded Lysholm Twin Screw) which I have, just need to pick which car it goes on.

XKE needs all of the love and budget for a few years, most likely 2025-2027.

Looking to pick up a Triumph TR3 rough project as it was one of the first classic cars I was exposed to (friend's father in high school (Aikin in Fort Collins about 25 years ago if anyone knows/knew him!) had just finished a beautiful restoration of one!) and I still find it the most beautiful of the roadsters. Want to do a quick mechanical resto to the point where I can road trip around CO reliably. Found a barn find option here in CO that I will get a chance to go look at once the snow subsides in a few month, but it needs everything (like all vehicles I buy apparently).

Vehicles in the stable (most will be for sale soon as I'm trying to slim down life & expenses to just the core):
- 1950 International L-182 Fire Truck (CO native! Second owner from North Platte Fire District)
- 1950 International L-110 shortbed, original
- 1952 International L-112 (project)
- 1952 International L-120 longbed, orig engine/trans but updated
- 1960 Jaguar MK2 3.8
- 1963 International R-185 (25.5k GVWR, 406ci inline-six Red Diamond, 5-speed with 2-speed rear)
- 1969 Jaguar XKE E-Type (w/ 4.2 donor engine)
- 1975 Porsche 914
- 1978 International 4125 Skid Steer
- 1981 Harley FXS "lowrider", chopped by me
- 1989 Ford F-250 4x4
- 2002 BMW X5 3.0i 4x4

Let me know if anyone is in the Boulder, Denver area!

welcome and wow! Quite a stable full. I presume the panels in pic one buffed out OK? :D

Thank you and yes, amazingly the bonnet did straighten! (at least in that section). It's the same as shown in the last pic upside down. Just incredible what hammers and dollies and a ton of time and patience can actually do - though I can't get the crease out of the louvres area, ran out of talent and didn't want to completely wreck it. Think I need to fab up a louver press and cut out / weld in that portion. Still learning body work.

Welcome! - Walter needs more IH's.
Who is this Walter you speak of? Several will soon be for sale and would love to connect with a fellow admirer of the greatest US trucks. Only reason Chevy/Ford/Dodge rivalry is that International stopped selling to the class 1/2/3/4 truck capacity market in the 70's so only us farmers still saw them around when we were kids. The 50's/60's internationals were way ahead of their counterparts.

Hello, I am this Walter Doug spoke of. I currently have a 46 K3, and a 52 L110. Over the years I have owned a multitude of Binders, my granddad was the shop foreman at Klein Truck and Equipment in Lawton, OK for about fifteen years after getting out of the Navy. My dad always owned them and the first thing I learned to drive was an old M model tractor. I'll scare up some photos soon.

That's a nice looking menagerie you have, I can tell that you'll fit right in around here.

Cheers,
Walter

Glad to have you aboard! Thanks for providing the list of cars - now, anytime my wife tells me I have too many, I'll just show her your list! LOL.
By the way, I grew up in Aurora and graduated High School there (a "few" years ago).
