I worked on my Alfa this weekend. Installed 2 new crank/flywheel sensors, hooked up the fuel pump that's been sitting in the box for about 2 years now. Car fired over, but wouldn't start. I disconnected the fuel return line and ran some into a jar. It was green! and stinky even for old gas.

I know the gas is about 2 years old, but green? wierded me out a little. Needless to say, the tank is coming back out to be emptied, cleaned, and the fuel lines flushed. I hope I didn't clog the injectors.

So anyone else ever heard of green colored gas? Like nearly neon-antifreeze-green.
 
I don't know if this is it, but they used to sell a product to use in emergencies if you ran out of gas. It came in a half gallon jug and could be kept in the trunk for years. I wonder if that was dyed a different color and if that could be it...don't know. just a possibility.
 
I'm going to guess its bacteria/algee thats growing in the water thats formed in the tank over the time its been sitting.

Sorry Kenny, I know it's not funny but, for some reason "GREEN GAS" made me laugh.
