Great Run today through the Santa Cruz mountians

Ahhhh! Great day. Just got back from an all day drive. There were only four cars a 100M, 2 BJ8s (including Roger's AUSM HLY) and my BT7 but the small group made for spirited driving. We tooled around the coastal Santa Cruz Mountians and stopped for a lunch and to pick up bread at the Pescadero Bakery. Then it was South on the Camerillo (Coastal HWY1) to Santa Cruz. The weather was wonderful and even the surfers were taking advantage of the swell and the last days of warm weather. I went over Hecker pass and split off from the others who went over HW17 back to Los Gats and Palo Alto.

I was nice to meet "AUSMHLY"

I wish I could have joined you guys. But I had an early morning golf game that trumped the ride - Blasphemy!
That Santa Cruz run is a great ride isn't it? I've done it a number of times with various modes of wheeled transport, the Healey, a Honda 750SS, '61 MGA, E-type. It's always the same - exhilerating. Next time for sure.

Re: Great Run today through the Santa Cruz mountia

My first group ride. Wonderful.

To those who have not had the opportunity to ride in a group, there's something special about it. The visual of seeing these classics driving together. Sharing the pride of ownership we have for our cars. Seeing the smiling faces of people that drive up next to us with a thumb up or friendly wave. My inner child comes out each and every time I wave back.

Plus a group ride lets you get to know your peers over lunch. We all have stories and it's nice to see hear them.

I feel lucky to have found this site, glad to be a member and meet some of the nice folks here I've been getting to know over the last two years of my restoration.

I feel fortunate and thankful that so many friendly Healey owners are within driving distance for these rides and car shows.

Cheers, Roger
