OK all you bright and creative sorts, help me out on this one. I've got my Bugeye on a rotisserie. Its been a wonderful experience except for the part about how to mount it given the sparcity (is that a word?) of the frame. The little guy's been flipped upside down and right side up again many times, and it has saved my back and bones from aching. But (and here's where it gets good) when I first mounted it I put the end supports that have the swivel parts on upside down. There a long side and a short side. I mounted it with the long side down. So, what I have is a Bugeye chassis that's ready to come off the rotisserie, but it is too high for the wheels to touch the ground by about 12 or 14 or 18 or 24 inches. The body is supported by two very long (and heavy) 2 inch steel beams. The beams have a mounting piece attached to where the seats bolt in. And do, my smarter-than-I-am friends, I'm open to suggestions as to how to get the body off the rotisserie. It's too high for a standard floor jack to reach it. Renting a forklift (and I did consider this) costs about $500. A pallat jack won't get high enough. I don't have a strong enough beam overhead to mount a block and tackle. Would an engine hoist be strong enough to support the weight of the body without the engine? My fall back position is to find 4 or 6 defensive linemen from the New York Giants to lift the thing off, but I'd have to wait until after the Super Bowl for them to be available and I'm not sure their contracts would allow it. So, I'm open for suggestions. I can't imagine anyone out there has ever been this stupid or inept, but maybe someone has an idea.

do you have a pic of this? i take it the suspension is still bolted to it? an engine hoist properly rigged will pick up just the body, i have done this with a midget and a B. the body alone two guys can pick up, and they dont have to be big fellas either. i would imagine that you and three friends could easily pick it off and set it down.

I'd probably buy a couple of cases of beer, and start recruiting.
Three of us picked up my GT6 body and set it back on the frame with no problems, slipped discs, or hernias.
Do you know anyone with a wrecker? I would imagine you could sling the body from the boom and get it off. Be a lot cheaper than renting a fork lift.

My thoughts exactly! Get three friends and you're more than covered. The Bugeye with running gear will be easy enough for you to manage. Buy 'em beer and pizza for after the job's done, they'll consider it easily earned. Good luck!

Hey Steve,

Your Yoda. Just pick it up with the force, man. Help a Newbie out.
