never saw one in 3-1/2 years in Charleytown. Ever. And spent a lot of time in wet boonies. What part of town you live in?
Mount Pleasant I never saw, maybe Sullivan's Island or Isle of Palms with the waterways in the latter.
Glad to see him leaving. When we lived in FL Doug told me he would take me to feed the alligators but they really only liked pink marshmallows. I was so naive that I believed him. I've since become educated. You all can stop laughing now!
Dave they are everywhere there is fresh water
Even have about 1 a year wash up on the IOP beach.
We have about 8 ponds in our little 225 house sub division I we have names for all the gators that we see there
Twice at night I almost stepped on babies as we walk the dog.
Oddly, in the early 70's, we never, ever saw one, even over towards Folly and MP....even up to Goose Creek. That causeway towards Goose Creek Naval Weapons Center. You would have thought that would have been a prime spot for hitting one or at least seeing one.
That picture was taken in the neighborhood across from our big division
The remark above about dog food is correct.
The pond to the other side of us I use to see a shelty run along the banks every morning. I remarked to my wife"Future gator food"
Sure enough, year later a gator grabbed it and the owner claimed that the gator came halfway into her yard and snatched the dog.
They brought out the animal control people to get rid of the gator
Said there was 3 and could not catch em.
About a week later the dog popped back to the surface and the owner got to bury her pup.
She said the gators were nuisances and should be exterminated.
I thought bad dog owners should be exterminated
